25th Anniversary Concert

Michael Bell conductor
Martin Jones soloist

Elgar Cockaigne Overture
Shostakovich Piano Concerto No.2 in F Major
Rachmaninov Symphony No.2 in E minor

A night of celebration as Cardiff Philharmonic Orchestra reaches its 25th Anniversary. Michael Bell who formed CPO in 1982, the year in which St. David’s Hall opened, is joined by one of the orchestra’s favourite soloists, Martin Jones in Shostakovich's vivacious and much loved Piano Concerto No 2.

The programme also includes a tribute to Sir Edward Elgar, on the 150th anniversary of his birth with a peformance of his Cockaigne Overture and concludes with one of the most romantic and beautiful symphonies ever written - Rachmaninov's Symphony No 2.

We look forward to seeing you on this very special occasion.
